There are lots of animals you didn’t know existed…
    Like the pebble toad.

This strange toad has an awesome method of escape. It lives in the cliffs of Venezuela that are called Tepui. The mountains tower over the rest of the rain forest which means not many animals lives there. The few animals that do are totally isolated. Due to how high up the pebble toad lives it doses not have many enemies, except for the tarantula. The tarantula is the Pebble toad’s most common enemy. We think that most toads can jump far to get escape from their enemy but the Pebble toad can only jump a few inches. So he can not depend on his jump. The one way the toad can get away from its enemies is to hurl its self down the rock face. You would think it would die, but after it jumps it curls up into a tight ball and tenses all its muscles so tight that it is like a rubber ball. It bounces down the cliffs until it sees a ledge were it can land. It releases its muscles to help it land and because it is so small the impact dose not hurt it.

You might have known this one but it is still cool.
The flying fish. This fish has an amazing adaptation. They are shaped like a torpedo this helps them gain the right speed to lift out of the water and fly. They are about the size of a tea cup so the speed that they generate to lift out the water is tremendous. To lift out the water they go up to 37 miles an hour, then they open up there fins and can glide up to 655 ft. they have many enemies like the sword fish and tuna. The big fish that try to eat them expect them to go down deeper under water but instead they go up and fly this leaves the enemy’s perplexed. They have two fins in the back and two in the front that lets them glide farther and helps to stabilize them.

    The stalk eyed fly

This bug is a stalk eyed fly. As you can tell by the name its eye are on the ends of long stalks. When a male stalk eyed fly comes out their shell, they climb up to the top of a tree it then gulp in air, and then it pushes the air to its head instead of the air coming out. This inflates the head then it pushes the air into its curled up stalks and they inflate to full size. Whose eyes are longer gets the girls.
